First British electric hypercar Lotus Evija debuts in London.


Lotus unveiled its first all-electric supercar, the Evija.The 1,972-horsepower coupe will be the first developed under Lotus’s parent company, billionaire Li Shu Fu’s Zhejiang Geely Holding Group Co.

Evija (pronounced 'E-vi-ya') means 'the first in existence' or 'the living one' .It is the most powerful series-production road car with 2,000 PS power and 1,700 Nm torque output capability. Production of the car will commence in 2020.

The hypercar can run at a top speed of over 320 kmph and it can reach 0-100 kmph in less than 3 seconds, while to reach 300 kmph from a standstill it will take 9 seconds.
Also, it can run up to 400 km on a single charge, loaded with fast charging technology, the car needs only 18 minutes to get the battery fully charged.

Built on an ultra-lightweight carbon fibre monocoque frame, this electric hypercar is the lightest production EV hypercar in the world, weighing 1,680 kg,the production of the car is limited to 130 units only.

Lotus Evija is priced from £1.7m, plus duties and taxes. Also, buyers have to deposit £250,000 to secure a production slot.Interested buyers can book the car by logging in to the automaker's official website.
