Harrier is built on Tata Motors Omega platform that is a derivative of Jaguar Land Rover's L550 platform that underpins the Discovery Sport.
Powering the flagship SUV will be a Kryotec four cylinder multijet diesel unit that powers the Jeep COMPASS and is expected to make 140hp in the Harrier. There will be two gear box options - 6 speed manual and a Hyundai sourced 6-speed automatic.

Tata Motors previously confirmed that the Harrier will come with multiple drive modes along with the terrain response modes of ESP.
Initially the SUV will come with a five seater version and later on a seven seater version with a bigger engine will be launched.
A dealer communication document revealed that on-road price for the SUV will be in the range of Rs 16-21 lakh and bookings have officially begun for an amount of Rs 30,000.
