ASHOK LEYLAND CIRCUIT-F Electric Bus

While the whole automobile industry is adapting to electric vehicles,ASHOK LEYLAND,the Fourth largest Bus manufacturer in the world is no exception.

We happened to spot the CIRCUIT-F model near Ennore, Chennai where the company's main manufacturing plant is located.
We believe that Circuit-F is the successor of Circuit-S model since they are identical.
Ashok leyland with Sun Mobility showcased the Circuit-S model at the 2018 Delhi Autoexpo.

The 'S' in Circuit-S implies swappable batteries which allows the bus operator to swap the battery pack at Quick Interchange stations which will be set-up to facilitate swapping, charging and maintenance of battery packs.
Circuit-S features permanent magnet synchronous AC Motor mated to a 2-Speed Automatic transmission which is powered by lithium-ion batteries, the batteries takes 8 hours to charge and each battery in the battery pack helps the bus to cover 50km distance.
Since Circuit-F is the successor model we can expect the bus to have a bigger battery or even non swappable batteries.
Also the design and dimensions of the 'F' model makes it suitable for city commutes which maybe used by the bus corporations in the country.
